Microbial Production

SynCo is one of the most experienced GMP contract manufacturers of biopharmaceuticals in the world.  Since 2000 SynCo’s microbial facilities continued to produce both clinical and commercial products for the world market.  Each of the upstream suites has several segregated downstream suites allowing for flexible manufacture of biopharmaceutical products. The manufacture of the biopharmaceuticals can be performed under Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) containment. 

Over the years SynCo has gained a diverse set of skills that also enables SynCo to take on the more challenging projects that require out of the box approaches. SynCo’s experience includes the production of recombinant proteins, wild-type microbial antigens, polysaccharides and live biotherapeutic products (microbial).  

The microbial facilities for the production of clinical phase and marketed products at SynCo include:

• 1 x 200 L (working volume) fermentor with associated downstream processing stream
• 5 x 100 L (working volume) Wave bioreactors for use in the production of a range of products, including fermentative and anaerobic live biotherapeutic products
• 1 x 1100 L (working volume) fermentor with several separate downstream processing suites

SynCo continues to expand its expertise and to evaluate and add novel production technologies to its manufacturing offering.
